Cheeseburger & Bacon Pasta

Servings: Approximately 6

Ingredients

450g Penne pasta 

2 Lbs (1 kg) Ground beef

1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

Pinch of salt and pepper

10 Bacon strips (a whole package), cut in half

2 Cans condensed tomato soup

1 Cup water

2 Cups shredded cheddar cheese

Method

  1. Fill a large pot with water and add a pinch of salt, bring to a boil then add your penne pasta and boil for approximately 12 mins until al dente, drain and set aside.
  2. While your pasta is boiling, brown the ground beef in a pan on high heat, adding the Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, saute until it is no longer pink, stirring and breaking up any lumps.
  3. When the ground beef is cooked through, remove it from the pan and put aside.
  4. Add the bacon strips into the now empty pan and fry until nice and crispy, remove the bacon and strain off the fat.  Then chop the bacon into little pieces.
  5. Return the ground beef and chopped bacon together into the pan and stir to mix together, next add the drained penne pasta and mix again.
  6. Pour in the condensed tomato soup, water and shredded cheddar cheese and let it cook on the stove top for 2 to 5 minutes on medium to low heat.
  7. Lastly, you can drizzle on your serving some bbq sauce or any other sauce of your choice.
