Chocolate Banana Bread

Servings : 8 to 10

Equipment needed : Large mixing bowl, Loaf pan,

Ingredients

1 1/2 Cups all purpose flour

1/3 Cup cocoa powder

1 tsp Baking soda

1 tsp Salt

3 Ripe bananas

1/3 Cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 Cup brown sugar

1/2 Cup white sugar

1 Egg, beaten

1 tsp Vanilla extract

¼ Cup melted dark chocolate chips

1/2 Cup chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 
  2. Prepare a loaf pan with non-stick baking spray.
  3. In a bowl add the cocoa powder, all purpose flour, baking soda and salt (dry ingredients), then gently whisk together.
  4. In another bowl add the bananas and mash with either a potato masher or fork until soft and mushy.
  5. Add the melted butter to the bananas and mix together with a spoon.
  6. Then add the white and brown sugars and mix again.
  7. Lastly, add the beaten egg and vanilla extract and mix once more.
  8. Add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients and mix again until well combined.
  9. Add in the melted dark chocolate chips and dark chocolate chips and mix again.
  10. Pour the mixture into the baking pan and spread evenly to the sides.
  11. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips over the top.
  12. Bake in the oven for 55 minutes.
  13. Turn the oven off and take the banana bread out of the oven.
  14. Remove from the loaf pan and allow to cool completely on a cooling rack.
