Starbucks Hot Drinks

Servings : 1 per drink

Equipment Needed : Kettle, Breville Espresso Machine, Bodum French Press,

Coffee ratio measurement : 1-2 tablespoons for every 4 to 6 ounces.

Ingredients + Method

#1 French Press Coffee

> Starbucks Verona Dark Roast
> Boiling Water

  1. Place 6 Tbsp ground coffee into the french press (we used single origin Kenyan roast).
  2. Pour about 1 inch of boiling water into the french press and stir with a spoon and let it rest for about 30 seconds.
  3. Pour the rest of the boiling water into the french press until the desired level / full.
  4. Place the lid back on and wait 3-5 minutes.
  5. Now you can press the lever down.  Hold the top of the lid of the French press when pouring into a coffee cup so the liquid does not make a mess when pouring.

#2 Latte

> Milk
> Starbucks Espresso

  1. Pour milk about a third of the way up a little milk jug used for the espresso machine.
  2. Put the wand of the espresso machine into the milk jug all the way to the bottom and put the steam on.  As it starts, pull the wand toward the top of the milk and hold there for about 8 seconds. Then leave it to rest there.
  3. Once the espresso beans  have been placed in the grinder, put the attachment onto the espresso machine and select grind.
  4. Check the milk to see if it is hot.
  5. Remove the attachment with the coffee grinds and pack it down firmly until it is level.
  6. When milk is hot and ready, turn off the steam and remove the milk and keep gently stirring so that it does not separate.
  7. Place the attachment with the espresso grinds back into the espresso machine until it locks and press the double shot button. Then the espresso will queue right into the espresso cup below.
  8. When the shots are done, pour the espresso straight into a coffee cup and the frothy milk straight after.

#3 London Fog

> Earl grey tea bag
> Milk
> Boiling water
> Torani vanilla syrup
> Cinnamon

  1. Pour boiling water over the earl grey tea bag in a mug, filled about half way up the mug.  Allow to steep for a few minutes.
  2. Press 2 shots of vanilla syrup over the brewing tea.  Remove the tea bag when sufficiently brewed.
  3. Pour milk about a third of the way up a little milk jug used for the espresso machine.
  4. Put the wand of the espresso machine into the milk jug all the way to the bottom and put the steam on.  As it starts, pull the wand toward the top of the milk and hold there for about 8 seconds. Then leave it to rest there while it continues to steam.
  5. Using a spoon to block the foam, pour the milk into the tea mug, then use the spoon to place the foam on the top.
  6. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

> Torani Vanilla Syrup
> Caramel Sauce
